Ma & Pa's Spindles is owned by John and Oneida Scofield. We have four children, John, who is the oldest, is currently in the United States Navy , Robert has just finished school and moved to Michigan , Leah and Joshua - are both at home being homeschooled..

In the beginning we were just looking for a way to spend more time with our children. So we started looking for a home based business that we could do as a family. One day my wife came to me and wanted me to make her a new drop spindle in my woodshop. I went down to my shop and made her a spindle. Afterwards as my wife was trying out her new spindle she said "Hey we could make these and sell them ! " Well thats all it took ! That was many many spindles ago , and even though it is a lot of work , we get to spend it as a family .
